Got some wainscoting pieces in the mail today, so I started in on the wainscoting for the sitting room. Cut out all the pieces I would need.
Stained them.
And glued them onto the wall behind the organ.
Kept going with the little fiddly bits around the fireplace.
And placed the organ back in.
Then I started on the opposite wall.
Forgot that I would have to cut around the window sill trim…and then realized that if I just removed the trim, it would look a lot better. (The smudge of stain under the window sill trim here is because I stain the wall behind the edges of the wainscoting so if there’s a tiny crack, it won’t be as noticeable.)
So I took a razor blade to the trim under the window sill (didn’t I just put that on a couple days ago?)…and added the wainscoting under the double window.
Didn’t get to the tower portion yet, but the rest of the room works pretty well.
Even simulated some morning sunshine peeping in through the windows with the spotlight…
That’s all for today. Good night.
